World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon a reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. item upgrading boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of the Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment the original item is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its original state and the player having to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance that it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
